In their Officers’ report, Powys Planning Officers are recommending refusal of RES’ proposed Garreg Lwyd Hill Wind Farm (P.2008.0785) above Felindre. The grounds for refusal are 1. unacceptable landscape impact, both individually and cumulatively with other proposed wind farms; 2. unacceptable individual and cumulative impact on public rights of way including Glyndwr’s Way, the Kerry Hill ridge and Shropshire Way; 3. unacceptable individual and cumulative impact on cultural heritage assets.

In a separate report, the Officers also recommend refusal of RES’ application (P/2013/0733 ) for highway upgrades and associated works to enable abnormal loads to access the wind farm site

The Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way Committee will consider these applications at its meeting at the County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, Powys LD1 5LG starting at 10.0 on 5 September 2013. It would be very helpful if as many as possible could attend the meeting to show SHCG support for the Officers’ recommendation.
